Meet our Board of Directors…

Our Board Members and Staff are unique in that they have all walked, and continue to walk, this journey.
Pressing into ever more wholeness and taking up the significance of who they were created to be.
This is not just theory, it is experiential. We help others because we ourselves know the joy and beauty of freedom.

Dr. Todd Steinmetz, President

Pediatric Dentist, Children’s Dental Health Center

Todd is a pediatric dentist and his job is to fix teeth, both by restoring and aligning them, and to prevent disease, thus creating a healthy mouth, which in turn helps create a healthy body. A number of years ago Todd’s wife became very sick and he was unable to “fix” her illness, or the effects it was having on his personal and family life. She started a journey with Finding Freedom and Todd saw the transformational change during her illness. In seeing this, he too started his journey.

“Finding Freedom, and the Rapha journey, gave me the means and the tools to create a healthy mind and spirit to deal with these life challenges in healthy ways. It has brought my wife, son, and I together and has allowed us to grow as a family.
I would not be where I am today without Finding Freedom!”

Dr. Peter Holmes, Vice President

Director of Learning & Growth, Finding Freedom

Peter’s love of helping those in emotional need started in his late teens. It began as a hobby, became the subject of his MA and PhD and then the focus of his career. He has written and researched extensively in addition to walking his own journey of healing. His specialty is the field of democratic therapeutic community and the healing power of emotion, where relationships lead us into transformative change. His own gifting and skill has birthed a movement of hope, healing, redemption, and wholeness.

“We are facing a world of increasing human need, where the power of love and relational transparency is central to our healing…
this is what Finding Freedom and the Rapha journey offers.”

Suzan Deibert, Treasurer

Notary Signing Agent, Montana Notary Signing Agent

Suzan could not imagine the move towards wholeness she might experience by consistently walking this journey, day by day. She realized to continue living with heavy hopelessness and anxiety was too painful, draining her of the ability to enjoy life, and negatively impacting her husband, children, and those close to her. Letting go of debilitating depression has brought not only welcome relief to her and her family, but also hope and brighter days. Suzan lives in Bozeman, Montana with her husband Al and their two adult daughters. Formerly a middle school math and science teacher, and real estate loan officer, she is now owner of a small business, working with title companies around the nation, closing commercial and residential home loans.

“Where despondency once existed, peace now reigns. It is one of my greatest privileges to help others searching for a more whole and full life through Finding Freedom and the Rapha journey.”

Dr. Susan Williams

Executive Director, Finding Freedom

Susan first started her journey of healing 25 years ago having given up on life. Her promise was that ‘if this works’ she would tell others about it. Since that time she has taught many thousands across the world to find their own unique journey of healing, using similar therapeutically- informed tools. Building on her sociological studies Susan completed an MPhil and PhD exploring how relational processes can create a safe place for people to grow, to change, to heal, to become who they are created to be.

“Finding Freedom not only saves lives, it offers life – life to the hurting, the hopeless, the broken. It’s for an individual and all those impacted by their experience. It’s not only about recovering from a damaged past. Its a journey that builds a future to be proud of.”

Ryan Mattson

LCPC, MHPP, Director, Social Services, Connections Health Solutions

Ryan moved to Montana after he had reached a place professionally and personally that he could not continue to maintain. He had been a crisis counselor and had been exposed to the worst that the mental health field had to offer. A family member had encouraged him to meet with Dr. Peter Holmes and Dr. Susan Williams. They were able to help him reach a place where he was able to reengage with his profession and continue pursuing the goals he has for his life.

“Finding Freedom and the Rapha journey are important to me because it was able to help me when therapy, support groups, and other methods fell short. I have also been able to see the impact it has on others who need healing and community in their lives and have experienced similar struggles to find a path that will work for them.”
