Faith and its ongoing hope are essential to our wellbeing in God. They transform our experience of daily life and let loose who we are created to be. In good times, we are able to acknowledge the provision of God for every aspect of our day. In more challenging circumstances, our hope holds steady because we are grounded in the certainty of who God is.
Faith births ideas and surprising promises in us with the help of Christ. By its divine nature, it will fly around natural obstacles and thinking. For instance, faith circumvents and moves beyond our natural trust of the harvest, our own skills, or trusting luck. We must all learn to live within God’s supernatural promises, and not just in our personal hard work, wisdom or pay-check.
But learning to exercise the muscles that hold the reality of our faith steady – that takes practice. We can intentionally grow our capacity to trust God in faith for His intervention. Little by little we can press into areas that we haven’t known before. Our hope grows. We can learn how to deal with those experiences where our own or someone else’s faith appears to have failed or been incorrectly placed. Our faith grows. We grow in our Christ-centred thinking of a life of faith and learn how to call things spiritually to us and others.
In this workshop pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will set out a Biblical perspective on how to grow in faith, so that our daily life changes because of our faith. Whether this might be a new adventure or a new chapter for your faith journey, you are welcome.
