SUMMARY:Welcoming the Power of Joy
DESCRIPTION:How can joy be a deep and consistent part of our life? Scripture has a lot to say\, as does recent research. Join in-person or online. \n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nJoy – it is one of the qualities of life that is most universally desired. Across the world\, across cultures\, gender\, all ages – we are all hungry to experience and to share joy. Joy has been proven to be good for us\, creating numerous physiological benefits. It is mentioned in English editions of the Bible at least 130 times\, and has a range of themes that repeat themselves\, often focused on the praise of God as Creator and Healer and as part of the Fruit of the Spirit. \nHowever\, from a human perspective\, joy is frequently misunderstood. It can be viewed simply as a fruit of our circumstances or as a feeling that passes all too quickly. Some will seek to manipulate or control it\, or to artificially reproduce it with addictions or adrenaline. Others find themselves devoid of joy\, and avoid being around those who are experiencing what they have given up hope for. \nIn this workshop\, Pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams explore the essence of joy from a Biblical and a psychological perspective. We all have the option to welcome more joy\, to grow into a deeper experience of joy and to walk in it more consistently. When we are in the midst of challenges\, there is a quieter kind of joy that is just as real and can sustain our spirit. And because joy is contagious\, we can learn how to let it loose to replicate in the lives of those around us. \nJoin us on Thursday\, June 16 from 6:30 – 9:30pm MDT at The Commons in Bozeman or via live-stream. Light refreshments will be served from 6:00pm. \n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Shock & Trauma: Finding Hope and Healing for us and Those We Love
DESCRIPTION:Click here to register!\nTrauma: it is one the most prevalent and crippling of emotional illnesses. It is almost guaranteed that every day each of us is interacting with someone suffering\, perhaps invisibly\, perhaps unknowingly\, from historic or recent trauma. This 2-part workshop series will bring us much-needed insight to the healing pathway out of trauma\, equipping us for our own journey and to respond supportively to others. \nAs an emotional response to a severe event like an accident\, abuse\, or disaster\, trauma can linger\, often undiagnosed\, for many years\, impacting not only the person themselves but also everyone close to them. Sometimes it will appear healed\, until it is later awakened by similar circumstances. Such post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) seriously affects one in five Americans at some point during their lives. \nTrauma comes in many different forms. Acute trauma follows a single incident\, whereas chronic trauma is a result of a prolonged situation. There is also complex trauma – being exposed to varied and toxic events\, often both invasive and interpersonal. Also\, let us remember that sometimes trauma can result from very beautiful moments\, e.g. the birth of a baby. \nFor some\, trauma can also occur as a result of watching traumatic experiences that others are experiencing. There is\, for instance\, no doubt that the tragedy of the war in Ukraine is going to multiply trauma around the world. \nPart of the challenge presented by trauma is that each person responds differently to their own experience\, with a unique mix of physical and emotional consequences. At its most severe this may include volatile emotion\, fear and rage\, traumatic dreams and flashbacks\, or hyper-vigilance. Some become very disconnected and experience a sudden change in character\, or make unusual decisions. \nSuch characteristics can be accompanied by headaches\, vomiting and nausea\, or a resistance to recovery from injury and disease. Relationships will often become very stressed\, so that one person’s trauma quickly ricochets around the family. \nIn this workshop\, Dr. Peter Holmes and Dr. Susan Williams will introduce a foundational understanding of trauma and its consequences. We will consider what happens in the brain that leads to trauma getting trapped\, and the way our feelings\, cognition\, behavior and relationships are all impacted. This will equip us to identify and respond compassionately to trauma in our own lives\, and in the lives of others\, while understanding more about its symptoms and consequences. In our second workshop (May 2022)\, we will use this understanding to describe the elements of a healing journey\, how to press deeply into this journey for yourself\, and how to bring hope to others. \nThe workshop will be held in-person at The Commons in Bozeman and also live-streamed. If you attend in-person\, light refreshments will be available from 6:00pm. We look forward to welcoming you! \nClick here to register!

SUMMARY:The Power of Humility in Christ
DESCRIPTION:The Power of Humility in Christ: Exploring the remarkable reality of the humility Christ carried and considering the implications for daily life. \nThe humility of Christ during His earthly ministry is much more radical than we realize. Rather than asking for any recognition of His status\, rather than asserting His entitlement\, He lived in relative anonymity amongst the poor\, the unlovely\, the outcasts\, as well as the rich and powerful. In addition\, He purposefully welcomed being misunderstood\, falsely accused\, humiliated\, and eventually killed. \nIf Christ had been without such humility\, there would have been no Atonement. Also\, without the Atonement\, none of us would be invited into salvation and a new life with God. Christ humbled Himself both before humanity and also the Enemy. Humility is central to the character not only of Christ but throughout the persons of the Godhead. \nThis workshop will explore the essence of humility in Christ and the implications this has for all of us\, especially for our understanding and expectations of manhood. We will consider what difference such humility made to who Christ was\, and the way He responded to the calling that He carried. We will also ask what kind of humility we should be walking in before Christ\, and in God’s calling on our own lives personally. \nJoin Pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams at The Commons in Bozeman\, and also live-streamed on Monday\, February 21\, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. Coffee\, tea\, and snacks will be available. \nClick here for more info and to register.

SUMMARY:Restart: Unlocking the Power of Transformational Rapha Groups
DESCRIPTION:We have some exciting news about new developments in our Women’s Rapha Groups! Here is some introductory information and an invite to an event in January. You are welcome whether you are in a group or not. \nWe are All Unique in How We Journey! Not all of us are looking for the same type of support in a group. Some of us want to use a group to pursue homework and engage emotion and some of us don’t. When we have different expectations\, it can feel unsafe\, both for those who desire to do work in the group and those who do not. We know this has impacted a number of groups in our community. If this has been your experience\, we want to acknowledge how difficult that may have been and we want to say sorry. We’ve been working on a better way. \nJoin Us…We have given a lot of thought to what will help us grow and we have some great ideas. We think more people might want to join or rejoin groups. If you are in a group at the moment\, this is going to help make group a better experience. We are inviting you to join us at The Commons or online\, 10:00am-noon on Saturday\, January 8. We will chat about the changes so that you (and your group\, if you have one) can decide what would be best. We will send more details in the New Year\, but here’s the link if you are planning to join online. \nThank You!If you are already in a group\, we are so grateful for you. What we get to create together is community – unlike anything most of us have experienced before. If you are not in a group yet\, we would love for you to consider joining one\, in-person or online. Journeying together is sacred ground and we are here to stand with you in your pursuit of becoming more fully the woman you are created to be. Thank you for the opportunity to journey with you! And if you have a thought or question ahead of our gathering\, do please get in touch.

SUMMARY:Workshop: Closer than a Brother
DESCRIPTION:Scripture speaks highly of what we can know and feel in our relationship with God\, in this life\, not just in the next. In the midst of the raw reality of our daily experiences\, it is suggested that Christ will call us Friend\, that we will know His voice\, that we will be in Him\, and that He\, with the Father and the Holy Spirit\, will make His home in us. And so much more. \nIt would seem God’s expectations of our knowing His Son are way more than we ever seek to possess in Him. ‘Closer than a brother’ is indeed the intention by God\, for us to enjoy here and now in our relationship with Christ. \nScripture speaks of the three stages of our life; our pre-existence before our birth\, our life in Christ on earth\, and our eternity in cosmic reality in praise of Christ. We move in our spirit and His\, today\, tomorrow\, throughout this life and then on into eternity. \nIn preparation for Thanksgiving and Christmas this meditation is an intimate journey\, unique for each one of us\, beginning in God\, and ultimately returning to God\, while available for every person on earth who chooses such a life. We can all know God in our eternal spiritual personhood—an eternity with Him that has already begun. \nWherever you consider yourself to be in your relationship with God\, you are welcome to join us. Pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will be leading us through this journey in-person at The Commons and live-streamed\, 6:30-9:00pm on Monday\, November 15. Snacks\, coffee and tea will be available. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER.

SUMMARY:Workshop - Dismantling the Power of Addiction: A message of hope and healing
DESCRIPTION:Almost anything deeply enjoyable has the potential to be addictive. For as long as human beings have had ways to feel good\, we have struggled to know when it’s time to stop. For many the consequences are devastating. For some they are fatal. \nIt has been suggested that there are over 500 possible addictions. These range from the relatively healthy (e.g. exercise\, TV\, social media)\, to those with deeply destructive consequences (e.g. smoking\, adrenaline\, street drugs\, alcohol). Most of us will know someone whose life has been deeply impacted by their own addiction or by that of a close friend or family member. And many of us carry our own almost-innocuous addictions. \nSo what is really happening when the addictive craving takes over\, and\, in spite of someone’s best intention\, their ‘habit’ becomes irresistible? What happens in the brain? What part do our feelings play? How come one addiction morphs so easily into another? Such understanding is essential to help us carry a message of hope for those in desperate need. \nThere is no magic program that guarantees a cure. But Pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will map the key elements of transformative change to not only bring freedom from addictions but also healing from their hidden drives. \nAt the end of this 7-session workshop\, you will leave with: \n\na message of hope for everyone you meet who is the victim of addictive behavior\nan understanding of the addictions you are most vulnerable to and how to avoid them\nthe way addiction is shaped by brain chemistry and how that can be changed\na Biblical perspective on addiction and its hidden drives\npractical steps to help someone wanting to find freedom from their addictions\n\nThis workshop is in-person at The Commons\, and live-streamed Friday\, October 8\, from 6:30-9:00pm and Saturday\, October 9\, from 9:00am-1:00pm. Snacks\, coffee and tea will be available. \nClick here to register for this workshop.

SUMMARY:Workshop - Hierarchy or Harmony: How to discover and outgrow the need for boundaries
DESCRIPTION:Boundaries are important. They provide a healthy structure for so much of our lives. But they can also be confining. What feels healthy for one person or situation can become oppressive for another. When someone asserts or claims a boundary that others feel is unwise\, or even abusive\, how does that get resolved? \nThis workshop focuses on emotional and relational boundaries. We will explore the damage caused by a lack of boundaries and set out a series of steps that will help us to grow the capacity to create mutual dignity\, respect\, and honor. But we will also look at the damage caused when one person’s ‘right’ to exercise their boundary imposes on another’s freedom of choice. \nHealthy boundaries can be a springboard into a life that focuses on growth\, positive risk-taking\, mutuality\, and spontaneity. But limiting one’s life within the constraints of boundaries can lead to being governed by unhelpful fear and control. Focusing too much on boundaries can also steal the potential for safety and trust in relationship and undermine our ability to be responsive to others. \nCome journey with us to see how life-giving boundaries can be a stepping-stone to the freedom of greater personal and relational wholeness. This workshop will be presented by Dr. Peter Holmes and Dr. Susan Williams. We use a Biblical perspective that can help deepen your relationship with God\, but we respect wherever you are on the spectrum of faith and encourage you to take up what feels relevant and ignore the rest. This workshop will help you on your journey of personal growth and help you help others do the same. \nTime This workshop will run Thursday\, August 19th from 6:30-9:30pm. \nLocation The Commons at Baxter & Love 1794 Baxter Lane East Bozeman\, MT 59178 This workshop will also be streamed live online. To receive the link\, please preregister. \nPrice We never want finances to be a barrier to people receiving the help they need in finding healing. Given this\, there is no fee for this workshop. SUMMARY:The Generosity of God: Growing the capacity to live a life of faith
DESCRIPTION:Faith and its ongoing hope are essential to our wellbeing in God. They transform our experience of daily life and let loose who we are created to be. In good times\, we are able to acknowledge the provision of God for every aspect of our day. In more challenging circumstances\, our hope holds steady because we are grounded in the certainty of who God is. \nFaith births ideas and surprising promises in us with the help of Christ. By its divine nature\, it will fly around natural obstacles and thinking. For instance\, faith circumvents and moves beyond our natural trust of the harvest\, our own skills\, or trusting luck. We must all learn to live within God’s supernatural promises\, and not just in our personal hard work\, wisdom or pay-check. \nBut learning to exercise the muscles that hold the reality of our faith steady – that takes practice. We can intentionally grow our capacity to trust God in faith for His intervention. Little by little we can press into areas that we haven’t known before. Our hope grows. We can learn how to deal with those experiences where our own or someone else’s faith appears to have failed or been incorrectly placed. Our faith grows. We grow in our Christ-centred thinking of a life of faith and learn how to call things spiritually to us and others. \nIn this workshop pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will set out a Biblical perspective on how to grow in faith\, so that our daily life changes because of our faith. Whether this might be a new adventure or a new chapter for your faith journey\, you are welcome. \nThis free workshop will be in person at The Commons in Bozeman and also live-streamed. You can register here. \n \nTime This workshop will run Thursday\, June 17th from 6:30-9:30pm. \nLocation The Commons at Baxter & Love 1794 Baxter Lane East Bozeman\, MT 59178 This workshop will also be streamed live online. SUMMARY:Workshop - The Strategic Importance of the Ascension: What difference does it make to you?
DESCRIPTION:Christianity places a great deal of importance on the Birth of Christ\, and His Crucifixion and Resurrection\, but most of us would not even be able to say what really happened around Ascension. \nSome 40 days after His Resurrection Jesus met with His Disciples on the Mount of Olives\, and “as they were looking on He was lifted up\, and a cloud took Him out of their sight” (Acts 1:9). This is the extent of most of our knowledge. \nBut until Christ had returned to His Father and sat at His right hand\, His mission had not been fully completed. The Early Church knew this and spoke of the Doctrine of the Ascension and the Glorification of Christ. These final events were essential to the completing of His Call here on earth. And are therefore essential for us. \nIf Christ had not ascended\, there are many aspects of our Christian life today that would be ineffective. Because Christ ascended\, we can say yes to the Great Commission\, we can pray with confidence\, we can live a transformed life in anticipation of His Return. \nWe are holding this workshop on Ascension Day. Pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will be unpacking the unique mystery surrounding this final event in Christ’s human life and the significance it has for us all on a daily basis. \n \nTime This workshop will run Thursday\, May 13th from 6:30-9:30pm. \nLocation The Commons at Baxter & Love 1794 Baxter Lane East Bozeman\, MT 59178 This workshop will also be streamed live online. SUMMARY:Workshop - Empowered to Change: What does it take to bring change in ourselves and others?
DESCRIPTION:“I wish I could change! I wish they would change! I wish that would change!” \nIt is a frequent cry in our lives. Perhaps we face a habit that stubbornly refuses our attempts to be different. Perhaps we sincerely make promises to change and find ourselves shamed when we repeat the very action or attitude we don’t want. Perhaps someone close to us feels trapped and is desperate to change\, but we have no idea how to help make it happen\, even if it were possible. \nWe all like a good measure of stability. But that can often feel like a trap. We need to know that we are empowered to bring change in our own lives and support others doing the same. It brings hope to know that change is possible. \nThe spiritual\, emotional\, practical mechanics of change do not need to be a mystery to us. The person each of us is created to be includes the personal spiritual authority to make a difference\, to see breakthrough\, to influence\, to become. This is what our Creator God intended. \nThis seven-session workshop will map the paradoxes we all live in\, to varying degrees\, knowing what we want and yet finding ourselves unable to make these necessary changes. What stands in our way of becoming more integrated\, more of who we are created to be? How do we begin fast-tracking our wholeness journey? When we know how God intended change to happen in our lives\, we can learn how to co-operate with the process more fully and step into ongoing growth. \nBy the end of the workshop you will have: \n\nUnderstand what stops change from happening and map your own obstacles to change\nHave a toolbox to help you change and bring change in different circumstances\nBe able to consider God’s surprising perspective on change\nKnow how to harness the spiritual power of personal change\nFeel more confident supporting others in personal change\, and know what to do when this is not possible\nHave some habit-busting techniques for the change-resistant parts of life\n\nTimes This workshop will run Friday\, March 5th from 6:30-9pm and Saturday\, March 6th from 9am-1pm. \nLocation The Commons at Baxter & Love 1794 Baxter Lane East Bozeman\, MT 59178 This workshop will also be streamed live online. To receive the link\, please preregister. \nPrice We never want finances to be a barrier to people
receiving the help they need in finding healing. Given this\, there is no fee for this workshop. We will\, however\, be taking donations to help cover our costs and to support ongoing work. You can donate at the workshop or in advance when you preregister. SUMMARY:Workshop - Compassion Fatigue: Its causes and cures
DESCRIPTION:  \nMany people find that people and relationships can be tiring. When we need to provide support\, love and care for others it can be exhausting\, leaving us depleted and sometimes even resentful. We can feel ill-equipped\, vulnerable\, and perhaps overwhelmed. Even if this doesn’t apply to you\, there will be people close to you who feel this way. \nIf this was a problem in a pre-pandemic world\, how much more severe is it now\, when social distancing\, masks\, vaccinations and testing have become a normal part of social interaction? So many people in our world are more emotionally and physically ill than they were 12 months ago. In addition there are millions\, yes millions\, who are facing the multi-faceted challenges of unexpected bereavement or suffering significant changes in health to those they love. \nHow will we respond? It is easy to try and ignore the need\, to stand back\, to disconnect ourselves from these life experiences. This semi-successful but always stressful approach is a vain attempt to achieve self-preservation. Is there an alternative? Is it possible to love well in the midst of such brokenness\, without becoming increasingly broken ourselves? And can we help others do the same? \nCompassion fatigue is a term that describes the exhaustion of trying to empathize\, to love\, to support\, when we have run out of our own capacity to do so. We start to find people and their stories exhausting\, to want to avoid the phone or the next Zoom call. It is common in professions such as therapists\, counsellors\, doctors\, pastors\, etc. But it is increasingly becoming a problem for any who are willing to notice the people around them. \nThe capacity to manage compassion fatigue is becoming a fundamental life skill for 21st century living. In this workshop Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will introduce compassion fatigue\, the damage it creates and what can be done to avoid becoming burnt out by other people’s need. They will use psychological\, sociological and theological perspectives to look beneath the surface at the mechanics of our emotional responses when we are around people in need. They will explore what we can each do to love well without it becoming a personal emotional hemorrhage. \nWe will include practical steps not only to recover from burnout and exhaustion\, but to prevent it occurring. You will discover how to avoid the overwhelm of another’s story. You will leave with tools to maintain your own emotional health and resilience in the face of need. And you will feel more equipped to respond to those close to you who do not understand the compassion fatigue they are suffering from. \n \nTime This workshop will run Thursday\, January 21st from 6:30-9:30pm. \nLocation The Commons at Baxter & Love 1794 Baxter Lane East Bozeman\, MT 59178 This workshop will also be streamed live online. SUMMARY:Workshop - Woman: Created Equal?
DESCRIPTION:For the last few hundred years the prevailing view in many parts of society and the church has been that woman\, created after Adam\, was either an afterthought\, or merely a servant (‘helper’) given to man. \nIs this God’s perspective? Much new thinking has been emerging based around Genesis 1-3\, regarding alternative ways of understanding what Scripture has to say about the Creation of man and woman. It suggests a radical equality\, where each is celebrated\, respected and in God’s image. \nIn this evening workshop\, Pastors Susan Williams and Peter Holmes will unpack some of these ideas in order to offer a fresh and more positive view of what God did for women on the sixth day of Creation. We will explore how women can carry this truth healthily and with dignity\, and how to respond when we are with others who do not appear to share this view. And we will map out a journey into greater healing and wholeness for ourselves\, our daughters\, our wider family and friends\, a journey that will also be life-giving to the men around us. \nThis is a women’s workshop\, but men are very welcome to join us. It will be hosted in-person at The Commons and online via livestream. All are welcome. \n  \nTime This workshop will run Thursday\, December 3rd from 6:30-9:30pm. \nLocation The Commons at Baxter & Love 1794 Baxter Lane East Bozeman\, MT 59178 This workshop will also be streamed live online. SUMMARY:Workshop - Friendship with God: Practical ways of getting to know God better
DESCRIPTION:**The link to view this workshop live online is www.thecommonsbozeman.com/live.** \nHow can your relationship with God grow? A dynamic relationship is one that continues to press into new things\, to explore different perspectives\, and to face new challenges. It can be bumpy at times\, but even the unexpected moments can bring growth. \nWould this be a good description of your relationship with God? Whether you are new to faith or have been pursuing a journey with Christ for a number of years\, we expect that God will want to press in with new forms of relationship so that you can deepen your relationship with Him and continue to become more like Christ. The adventure never ends. \nHowever sometimes we have seasons where our relationship with God seems stuck in a rut\, or is becoming a little too impersonal. Perhaps we feel like we are going through the motions and it feels empty? This can lead us into becoming unhelpfully self-sufficient in our spiritual life. We can lose focus on the truth that Christ is all and is in all (Col 3:11). These are times where the idea of deepening our relationship with God feels remote and unattainable. Getting started again is a challenge that needs some help. \nIn this workshop Pastor Peter Holmes and Pastor Susan Williams will map out 15+ ideas drawn from their own journeying with Christ\, for renewing your relationship with God. They will include theological and psychological perspectives together with initiatives that will enhance your own emotional\, spiritual\, and relational health. \nThey will also include practical steps that are intended to bring visible results\, whilst being realistic enough for anyone to achieve\, regardless of time limitations\, Biblical background\, gender\, church experience\, etc. You will leave with an opportunity to bring more life into your relationship with God and for that to then overflow as a gift to others. \n  \nTime\nThis workshop will run Thursday\, November 5th from 6:30-9:30pm. \nLocation\nThe Commons at Baxter & Love\n1794 Baxter Lane East\nBozeman\, MT 59178\nThis workshop will also be streamed live online.\nTo receive the link\, please preregister. \nPrice\nWe never want finances to be a barrier to people
receiving the help they need in finding healing.\nGiven this\, there is no fee for this workshop.\nWe will however\, be taking donations to help cover our costs and to support the ongoing work of Finding Freedom\nYou can donate at the workshop or in advance when you preregister.\n(Finding Freedom is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.) \nRegistration
\nWe value your preregistration so we can be prepared to welcome you.\nPlease use this link to preregister.\nIf you have any questions or trouble preregistering\, email us or call our office at 406-570-7040. \nMore Information\n*Doors will open at 6pm on Thursday\, November 5th.\n*Due to Covid-19 we will be encouraging social distancing.\n*The Commons also requires the use of masks\,
unless you are seated in the auditorium.\n*We will not be serving refreshments\, so please feel free to
bring your own snacks.\n*Bottled water will be available.\n*Help us spread the word! SUMMARY:Workshop - Ceasefire! Resolving Inner & Relational Conflict
DESCRIPTION:***Interested in watching this workshop online?  If so\, here is the link.***\nWe have three handouts for this workshop. They will be printed and given out at the workshop. If you are joining us virtually\, feel free to download (and print) them.\n*Conflict Workshop Handout\n*Conflict Workshop Supplementary Note\n*Conflict Bible Verses \nConflict is something none of us can escape. We often try avoiding it\, numbing ourselves to it\, or fighting against it. We blame others for it or just live in denial about it. Conflict can occur in our relationships with others\, ourself\, and it can even occur in our relationship with God. Most of us have no idea of the range of conflicts we are experiencing\, until we pause and allow ourselves to see it. \nConflict can bring about division\, and drive us to avoid truth and try to blame others. This leads some to fear\, while others use it to feel more powerful. However\, when engaged in a helpful way\, conflict can lead to healthier ways of living\, and can precipitate positive change. It can result in greater openness and authenticity. It can bring about more wholeness and resolution if we navigate it with wisdom. \nIn this workshop\, we will be exploring how we can respond well to conflict. We will consider the many types of conflict\, map out practical steps to bring resolution\, and provide tools to walk healthily through those times when it feels unavoidable. We will include sociological\, psychological\, and Biblical content. \nBy the end of the workshop you will have the opportunity to:\n*Understand the complexities of conflict\n*Map out the conflicts that you may be currently facing\n*Learn practical steps and tools to find resolution to the conflicts in your life\n*Leave with a greater understanding of the reality of the spiritual and emotional factors that can contribute to conflict\n*Grow new responses for the situations where conflict proves stubborn\n*Glean wisdom in how to help others healthfully navigate conflict in their lives \n  \nTimes\nThis workshop will run Friday\, October 2nd from 6:30-9pm\nand Saturday\, October 3rd from 9am-1pm. \nLocation\nThe Commons at Baxter & Love\n1794 Baxter Lane East\nBozeman\, MT 59178\nThis workshop will also be streamed live online.\nTo receive the link\, please preregister. \nPrice\nWe never want finances to be a barrier to people
receiving the help they need in finding healing.\nGiven this\, there is no fee for this workshop.\nWe will however\, be taking donations to help cover our costs and to support ongoing work.\nYou can donate at the workshop or in advance when you preregister.\n(Finding Freedom is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.) \nRegistration
\nWe value your preregistration so we can be prepared to welcome you.\nPlease use this link to preregister.\nIf you have any questions or trouble preregistering email us or call our office at 406-570-7040. \nMore Information\n*Doors will open at 6pm on Friday\, October 2nd\n*Due to Covid-19 we will be encouraging social distancing.\n*The Commons also requires the use of masks\,
unless you are seated in the auditorium.\n*We will not be serving refreshments\, so please feel free to
bring your own snacks.\n*Bottled water will be available\n*Help us spread the word! SUMMARY:Workshop: Living at ease in the Spiritual World
DESCRIPTION:So often we forget about the reality of the spiritual world that we live in. We operate in the material world and assume that if we can fix the brokenness there\, all will be well. However\, very often that is not the case. The brokenness and damage of our fallen world impacts us at a deep spiritual level. It is in the depths of our human spirit that we find healing\, restoration\, and redemption. \nWhen we begin operating within\, and living more aware of the spiritual world\, we are able to tap into the damage that lives within us so we can let go of it for good. We begin being able to move in spiritual gifting and anointing\, as the person God created us to be. We can more accurately hear the voice of God\, trusting His perspective. When we have an openness to the spiritual world we are able to read Scripture and understand theology in new ways. We can righteously love and honor ourselves\, others\, and God. \nDuring this next workshop\, Pastors Peter Holmes & Susan Williams will unpack this idea that our fallen world has two aspects to it – the material and the spiritual. They will help us learn to be more fully present in the spiritual world and give us practical tools to make this all a reality. Join us on Friday\, March 6th from 6:30-9pm and Saturday\, March 7th from 9am-1pm as we learn and grow together. Everyone is welcome. \nRegistration and refreshments open at 6pm and we will begin the workshop at 6:30pm.\nYou can pre-register using this link.\nDownload the workshop brochure for additional information and to share with others.

SUMMARY:Workshop: Waging War on Loneliness
DESCRIPTION:There is much concern about the amount of loneliness and social isolation that we experience today.  In our families and churches\, in workplaces\, in the crowds of smiling faces\, there is a significant amount of hidden loneliness. Many feel more isolated than ever before. What are the factors contributing to this individual and cultural phenomenon? What are some of the answers that can lead us to a life of connection\, belonging\, and personal peace?  \nRecent research has shown that social isolation has a significant and severe physical and emotional impact. In this workshop\, Pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will explore this 21st century epidemic from a Biblical\, sociological and psychological perspective. They will look at the healing we can let loose in our own lives and what we can offer to others. \nJoin us on Thursday\, January 16th from 6:30-9:30pm at The Commons for this free workshop.
