SUMMARY:Women's Weekend Away
DESCRIPTION:Daring to Become Authentic: Tools to Grow More of the Person You Are Created to Be\nRegister for the Women’s Weekend Away 2021! \nThe hunger to be authentic is universal. It’s part of being human. Inside all of us is a drive to live in our true self before others\, with ourselves\, and\, when we are ready\, in relationship with God. At the time of the Early Church\, it was described as a ‘personal thriving.’ Christ called it ‘letting your light shine.’ \nAnd yet there are so many pressures in our life that assault us. Daily stress\, historic trauma\, peer pressure\, sheer exhaustion\, addictions\, and other coping mechanisms—these things (and many more) deplete our capacity to live well. \nIn this retreat\, we will be exploring how to let loose more of that holy authenticity that brings life to us and to those around us\, regardless of our circumstances. \nPastor Susan Williams will lead our weekend along with our Women’s Team. The weekend will include good food and plenty of snacks\, time to explore historic Butte\, a Q&A ‘clinic’ for personal questions\, opportunity for discussion\, and a time to meet the Lord together with communion and prayer for healing. \nBy the end of the workshop you will: \n\nBe able to recognize more of the person you are created to be\nHave several personally-relevant tools to help you grow more of you\nHave new insight into how Scripture equips us to take up maturity in Christ\nUnderstand what threatens your capacity to be authentic and how to overcome it\nHave some new skills for living authentically in ‘tricky’ relationships\nHave heard numerous testimonies of healing and/or growth in relationship with the Lord\nGrow friendships and find companionship for your own journeying\n\nDownload and share the Women’s Weekend Away brochure.\nAll women are welcome! \n  \nTimes\nThis is an all-inclusive weekend that will begin with dinner on Friday\, April 9th at 6pm and will continue through Sunday\, April 11th at 11am.
All workshop materials\, meals\, and accommodations are included. \nLocation\nCopper King Hotel & Convention Center
4655 Harrison Ave
Butte\, MT 59701\n(carpooling options available) \nPrice\n$225 quadruple occupancy*\n$240 triple occupancy*\n$255 double occupancy\n$355 single occupancy \n*Please note\, to qualify for the quadruple or triple occupancy rates you must specify your roommates. If you do not have a roommate preference\, please choose the double occupancy option and we will pair you with someone. \nLimited scholarships are available for those with financial difficulties.\nIf you are in need\, please get in touch with us. \nRegistration & More Information\n(Registration deadline – April 2\, 2021)\nSign Up online: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/findingfreedom/497425\nEmail: info@findingfreedom.solutions\nCall: 406-570–7040

SUMMARY:Workshop - Compassion Fatigue: Its causes and cures
DESCRIPTION:  \nMany people find that people and relationships can be tiring. When we need to provide support\, love and care for others it can be exhausting\, leaving us depleted and sometimes even resentful. We can feel ill-equipped\, vulnerable\, and perhaps overwhelmed. Even if this doesn’t apply to you\, there will be people close to you who feel this way. \nIf this was a problem in a pre-pandemic world\, how much more severe is it now\, when social distancing\, masks\, vaccinations and testing have become a normal part of social interaction? So many people in our world are more emotionally and physically ill than they were 12 months ago. In addition there are millions\, yes millions\, who are facing the multi-faceted challenges of unexpected bereavement or suffering significant changes in health to those they love. \nHow will we respond? It is easy to try and ignore the need\, to stand back\, to disconnect ourselves from these life experiences. This semi-successful but always stressful approach is a vain attempt to achieve self-preservation. Is there an alternative? Is it possible to love well in the midst of such brokenness\, without becoming increasingly broken ourselves? And can we help others do the same? \nCompassion fatigue is a term that describes the exhaustion of trying to empathize\, to love\, to support\, when we have run out of our own capacity to do so. We start to find people and their stories exhausting\, to want to avoid the phone or the next Zoom call. It is common in professions such as therapists\, counsellors\, doctors\, pastors\, etc. But it is increasingly becoming a problem for any who are willing to notice the people around them. \nThe capacity to manage compassion fatigue is becoming a fundamental life skill for 21st century living. In this workshop Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will introduce compassion fatigue\, the damage it creates and what can be done to avoid becoming burnt out by other people’s need. They will use psychological\, sociological and theological perspectives to look beneath the surface at the mechanics of our emotional responses when we are around people in need. They will explore what we can each do to love well without it becoming a personal emotional hemorrhage. \nWe will include practical steps not only to recover from burnout and exhaustion\, but to prevent it occurring. You will discover how to avoid the overwhelm of another’s story. You will leave with tools to maintain your own emotional health and resilience in the face of need. And you will feel more equipped to respond to those close to you who do not understand the compassion fatigue they are suffering from. \n \nTime This workshop will run Thursday\, January 21st from 6:30-9:30pm. \nLocation The Commons at Baxter & Love 1794 Baxter Lane East Bozeman\, MT 59178 This workshop will also be streamed live online. To receive the link\, please preregister. \nPrice We never want finances to be a barrier to people
receiving the help they need in finding healing. Given this\, there is no fee for this workshop. We will however\, be taking donations to help cover our costs and to support the ongoing work of Finding Freedom You can donate at the workshop or in advance when you preregister. (Finding Freedom is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.) \nRegistration
We value your preregistration so we can be prepared to welcome you. Please use this link to preregister. SUMMARY:Community Evening
DESCRIPTION:This Friday evening\, September 18th\, we are hosting our Community Evening in person at our new location (2419 E. Cameron Bridge Road). We will be gathering at 6:30pm. There will be no shared food\, due to Covid-19\, however we encourage you to bring your dinner and we will eat together on the lawn.  We will then migrate to our large barn and worship together and hear from Peter. \nWe are missing being together in person\, so we look forward to welcoming you all.  We will be encouraging social distancing\, which is why this evening will be held outside. Please bring a chair with you\, if you are able. And the barn is not heated so it would be good to bring a jacket with you as well. \nOur special area of focus is to create safe relationships and offer resources for people struggling with seasons of brokenness and especially emotional difficulties – either their own or someone close to them. Our community is active in reaching out to support those in the Valley who are in the midst of a time of need\, whether historic or current.

SUMMARY:Dedication of New Home
DESCRIPTION:If you are in the Bozeman area this Friday\, August 28th we would like to invite you (and your family) to visit our land and offices. We are having a celebration event\, to give space for you to take a walk through the trees and pasture and explore the land. It’s 10 acres\, so there is plenty of space.  We will also be giving tours of the offices and outbuildings\, small groups at a time. \nWe are excited that this is our first open in-person event since the start of the pandemic. It will be in the open air\, we will be following safety guidelines\, respecting social distancing\, and encouraging the use of masks when social distancing isn’t possible (especially in the house). \nPlease bring your own chair\, and food and drink if you wish. If you want to have a picnic then there is plenty of space for that. (But because of the current guidelines\, please don’t share food with others outside your family.) \nWe will have a dedication moment at about 6:45pm and Peter will share a little about the place that Jesus called home. You are welcome to come early\, any time from 4:30pm onwards\, or to stay on afterwards. The address is 2419 East Cameron Bridge Road\, Bozeman. \nWe don’t yet have our internet set up. So if you are not able to come\, we can’t share this particular event with you. But some good news if you aren’t in the Gallatin Valley\, or if there are other reasons you can’t make it. We are getting some additional equipment and setting up so that our in-person events are accessible and inclusive\, for any who are not physically present. And we will offer a virtual tour for you just as soon as we can. \nSo we hope to see you on Friday – or if not\, watch out for our virtual event\, coming soon!

SUMMARY:Rapha Workshop: Navigating\, Understanding\, & Connecting in a Wounded and Uncertain World (virtual)
DESCRIPTION:When: Thursday\, June 4th from 6:30-9:30pm MDT\nWhere: Online using this Zoom link\nCost: Free (an offering will be taken)\nRegistration: Preregister for this workshop here. \nFear and Retreat or Hope and Opportunity. What do you make of this season we are in? The Royal College of Psychiatrists in UK is predicting ‘a tsunami of mental illness’ as a result of the pandemic. Unemployment has risen to unimaginable levels. Travel has been severely restricted\, and online is for many of us our most frequent form of social connection. Meeting up with a friend has begun to feel risky. Shaking hands and giving a friend a hug feels like we are doing something wrong. \nIn the midst of many differing views\, one thing is certain. Our world\, our lives and our relationships will not return to the way they were before the pandemic. We have a lot to learn about the implications of all that has happened. Can we turn this moment into an opportunity to grow into more than we were and to begin to help others do the same? \nWhether we are living in a low or high risk part of the world\, we are now all having to face up to some radical changes. In this evening workshop we would like to help inform and equip you to live well and keep well in this new season. \nIn our first virtual workshop Pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will map out the choices we are being confronted with. They will explore the psychological\, sociological\, and Biblical dynamics of this world-changing moment. Is this an earthquake for the emotional and spiritual landscapes of our lives that will cause irreparable damage? How can we sustain our communities with health in the middle of theses shifts? \nJoin us Thursday\, June 4th from 6:30-9:30pm MDT on Zoom for this workshop. Sign in from 6:15pm MDT to be ready for a prompt start. Make sure you have a way of taking notes during the workshop – you will need it!

SUMMARY:Women's Weekend Away - POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:Daring to Become Authentic: Tools to Grow More of the Person You Are Created to Be\nWe are working on rescheduling our Women’s Weekend Away for sometime during the Fall 2020. We will post more information as we have it.  \nThe hunger to be authentic is universal. It’s part of being human. Inside all of us is a drive to live in our true self before others\, with ourselves\, and\, when we are ready\, in relationship with God. At the time of the Early Church it was described as a ‘personal thriving.’ Christ called it ‘letting your light shine.’ \nAnd yet there are so many pressures in our life that assault us. Daily stress\, historic trauma\, peer pressure\, sheer exhaustion\, addictions and other coping mechanisms—these things (and many more) deplete our capacity to live well. \nIn this retreat we will be exploring how to let loose more of that holy authenticity that brings life to us and to those around us\, regardless of our circumstances. \nBy the end of the workshop you will: \n\nBe able to recognize more of the person you are created to be\nHave several personally-relevant tools to help you grow more of you\nHave new insight into how Scripture equips us to take up maturity in Christ\nUnderstand what threatens your capacity to be authentic and how to overcome it\nHave some new skills for living authentically in ‘tricky’ relationships\nHave heard numerous testimonies of healing and/or growth in relationship with the Lord\nGrow friendships and find companionship for your own journeying
