SUMMARY:Workshop: Living at ease in the Spiritual World
DESCRIPTION:So often we forget about the reality of the spiritual world that we live in. We operate in the material world and assume that if we can fix the brokenness there\, all will be well. However\, very often that is not the case. The brokenness and damage of our fallen world impacts us at a deep spiritual level. It is in the depths of our human spirit that we find healing\, restoration\, and redemption. \nWhen we begin operating within\, and living more aware of the spiritual world\, we are able to tap into the damage that lives within us so we can let go of it for good. We begin being able to move in spiritual gifting and anointing\, as the person God created us to be. We can more accurately hear the voice of God\, trusting His perspective. When we have an openness to the spiritual world we are able to read Scripture and understand theology in new ways. We can righteously love and honor ourselves\, others\, and God. \nDuring this next workshop\, Pastors Peter Holmes & Susan Williams will unpack this idea that our fallen world has two aspects to it – the material and the spiritual. They will help us learn to be more fully present in the spiritual world and give us practical tools to make this all a reality. Join us on Friday\, March 6th from 6:30-9pm and Saturday\, March 7th from 9am-1pm as we learn and grow together. Each month’s topic varies\, but there is always time for fellowship and community\, personal reflection\, and continuing to learn and grow with one another and to welcome more healing and redemption in our lives. \nOn Thursday\, March 5th at The Commons we will be exploring the power of our stories and the healing and freedom  that can come when we engage them through the process of writing. SUMMARY:Community Evening
DESCRIPTION:During our monthly Community Evening\, we eat a potluck meal together (if your last name begins with A-J please bring a side dish or dessert\, and if your last name begins with I-Z please bring a main dish)\, have a time of worship\, share testimonies of healing\, answers to prayer and those little and great breakthroughs of journeying into greater wholeness and a deeper relationship with God. We often have prayer for healing and usually have a devotional. All are welcome including family members and children. \nOur special area of focus is to create safe relationships and offer resources for people struggling with seasons of brokenness and especially emotional difficulties – either their own or someone close to them. Our community is active in reaching out to support those in the Valley who are in the midst of a time of need\, whether historic or current. \nWe are currently hosting this gathering one Friday each month from 6-9pm. Our next evening is Friday\, February 21st.

DESCRIPTION:There is much concern about the amount of loneliness and social isolation that we experience today.  In our families and churches\, in workplaces\, in the crowds of smiling faces\, there is a significant amount of hidden loneliness. Many feel more isolated than ever before. What are the factors contributing to this individual and cultural phenomenon? What are some of the answers that can lead us to a life of connection\, belonging\, and personal peace?  \nRecent research has shown that social isolation has a significant and severe physical and emotional impact. In this workshop\, Pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will explore this 21st century epidemic from a Biblical\, sociological and psychological perspective.
