SUMMARY:Women's Weekend Away - The Gift of Self-Worth
DESCRIPTION:Click here to register!\nWhat is the workshop about?Self-worth and self-esteem are important. They are foundational to our sense of who we are and to the value we give to all of our relationships. They affect our hopes and dreams\, our fears\, and the confidence and ease with which we walk through daily life. They also have a direct impact on our relationship with God. Being able to live with healthy self-worth is an essential ingredient in our well-being. \nYet self-worth is also vulnerable to our experience of life. Rejection\, betrayal and abuse can create a fragile experience of our self-worth. Trauma will often create a disconnect from our own sense of reality and connectedness. When others bully or even hate us\, especially when we are young\, we often mirror their responses as we start to hate and despise ourselves. And when our self-worth is damaged\, it can limit our capacity to value the worth of others. \nChrist commanded us to love others in the same way that we love ourselves. The clear expectation is that we know how to carry self-worth healthily\, and we can use this as a foundation for giving life to others. And yet Paul speaks of “dying to self”. Does that mean we should abandon our sense of our own worth? \nIn this workshop\, we will take a very practical look at all of these issues. We will explore how to let go of the things that hemorrhage healthy self-worth. We will map out a pathway to grow the kind of self-worth that Christ envisaged – that which is a blessing to others. By the end of the workshop\, you will have a new understanding of where your self-worth is grounded and how to protect its resilience in the midst of the challenges of daily life. \nSusan Williams will lead our weekend along with a team. You will enjoy good food\, plenty of snacks\, a Q&A for personal questions and the opportunity to make connections\, grow community and meet the Lord with others. \nBy the end of the workshop\, you will have had the opportunity to: \n\nChoose a firm foundation for your own personal sense of self-worth\nUnderstand what your vulnerabilities are and know how to respond\nGain new skills for interacting with others\nUnderstand Scripture’s view of self-worth and embrace God’s perspective on who you are\nHear numerous testimonies of healing\, wholeness and/or growing relationship with the Lord\nGrow friendships and find companionship for your own journeying\n\nPlease join us as we explore this very important topic together. All women are welcome! \nTimesThis is an all-inclusive weekend that will begin with dinner on Friday\, April 22nd at 6pm and will continue through Sunday\, April 24th at 11am.
